CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A few days ago, the crisp voices of children rang through Guangyang Island at the Guanyu Post on the south shore. The Guangyang Island Pure Countryside Festival, themed “Small Seeds, Big Energy”, was officially kicked off. Students from Longmenhao Longping Primary School in Nan’an District learned about seeds and germplasm, and learned about ecology from their work, planting the seeds of ecological civilization in their hearts.

At the event, teachers and students from Longmenhao Longping Primary School recited Seasons Rhyme in unison, followed by an ecology class in which the teacher told the children the Story of Yuan Longping and his Hybrid Rice. The golden rice fields and harvesting scenes with children’s voices had everyone grabbing their cameras and camcorders to record bits and pieces of the Festival.

During the rice harvesting link, children in farming costumes went into the rice fields with their teachers to experience rice harvesting and learn about the process of harvesting crops and the use of farming tools. “Through the rice harvesting, I have learnt that each grain in your dish is a fruit of hard labor and I will definitely cherish food more in my future life,” said Zhao Hujunxi, a primary school student who participated in the event.
