CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- It is a great time to go hiking and enjoy autumn as the weather is cool. Enjoy nature’s bounty, look out over the landscape, breathe in the clear air and relax... Take a spiritual journey through the pleasures of hiking.

Longji Mountain

Longji Mountain lies at Nanshan Academy of Chongqing Technology and Business University in a convenient location. There are two paths to choose from at the foot of the Mountain, one gentler and the other steeper. When you reach the top of the Mountain, you can see a row of large rocks jutting out like the back of a dragon, hence the name Longji Mountain. It is different from Gele Mountain, Nanshan Mountain and Zhaomu Mountain in that it is a more treacherous mountain with rugged trails, but with lush greenery and pleasant air in between, you can feel the beauty of nature in its original form. The mountain is beautiful and the air is fresh. It takes about 2 hours to hike up the Mountain. Bring plenty of water for the hike, but also a hammock and snacks for a leisurely day out. Located near Chongqing Technology and Business University, Longji Mountain is just across the road from Huilongwan Food Street, where you can enjoy a wide range of food, such as grilled meats, hot pots, Chongqing local dishes and barbecues at fair prices.

Route: Get off at Liugongli Station of CRT Line 3 and go up the hill at the back of Yuneng International Community.

Jinyun Mountain

As one of the landmarks of Beibei District, Jinyun Mountain has a very high vegetation cover and is known as a “natural oxygen bar”, free from the crowded and the hustle and bustle of the city. You can start hiking from the fitness staircase of Jinyun Mountain all the way up to the lush greenery. There are shops selling water along the way, and halfway up the mountain there is Nanzhu Forest of Baiyunguan, where there is an agritainment restaurant where you can try specialties of Jinyun Mountain: preserved pig’s feet, chicken with taro and various wild vegetables. If you continue up, you will reach the top of the Mountain, where there are small attractions such as Daihu Lake, Jinguoyuan and Tenglongya, which offer a unique view of Beibei District. The mountain is full of tranquility and freedom.

Route: Get off at Beibei Station of CRT Line 6, then take Bus 520, Jinyun Mountain Cableway or walk up the mountain; alternatively, take a transit bus such as Bus 518 to transfer at Jingangbei or Sanhuashi Pick-up Station.

Tieshanping

Located in Jiangbei District, Tieshanping is a national 4A-level scenic spot with a large area and rich landscape. The hike up to Tieshangping features green pines, surrounded by pine forests and strewn with grassy paths. Numerous decks of varying sizes have been erected along the way for people to look out over the Yangtze River, with its magnificent waves, and the Nanshan Mountain, with its beautiful peaks. A must-try in Tieshamping is the special prickly ash chicken, which is spicy, pungent and tasty.

Route: Get off at Tangjiatuo Station of CRT Line 4 and transfer to Bus 813 to Tieshan Avenue.

What you enjoy about hiking is the relaxation and ease. When you reach the top, you can look down at the beauty of Chongqing and see the scenery in the distance, leaving all the worries and chores behind you, as if you are holding all the beauty.
