In the morning, in the town’s employment workshop for poverty alleviation, baked moon cakes with yellow appearance and attractive aroma one after another attracted tourists’ attention all of a sudden.

From the appearance, these moon cakes are not the same as the traditional printed moon cakes, but have a funny print shape: a simulation of chess moon cakes placed on a chessboard with a clear boundary between Chu and Han, and good-luck colorful mahjong iced skin moon cakes, printed with the words such as Liuwan, Bawan, Facai, Hongzhong, etc..

“We have set up a special R&D team to have more innovation and cross-boundary work on traditional mooncakes. In the past, we were more innovative in the filling of mooncakes to meet the diversified consumer demand. This year we are integrating more cultural creativity to make more connotative mooncakes.” The person in charge of the workshop for poverty alleviation introduced that, at present, these fancy moon cakes are mainly for sampling, and advance reservations are required for purchase.
