More than 5000 electricity workers on the front line this mid-autumn festival to guard the lights of thousands of families

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- “I miss you so much!” In the evening of September 20, a child who had not seen his father for a long time, connected to the video call with his father. As a five-year-old boy, at the moment of seeing his father, he actually jumped up with joy, and then brought the moon cake to share with his father in the video, “I'll leave you a piece, there is a small star figure on it.”

Yang Guoqiang is the child’s father, is also the manager of Baihetan ~ Jiangsu ± 800 kV ultra-high voltage DC transmission line project (Chongqing section) project department site. For the mid-autumn festival holiday this year, Yang Guoqiang chose to stay on the site with his colleagues to step up the formation and installation of accessories across the Yangtze and Wujiang River line towers.

It is learned that the project, which runs through Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, has a total length of 2087 kilometers and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2022. After completion, it will be able to transport 31.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, reduce the use of coal for power generation in East China by 14 million tons, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 25.42 million tons.

Power workers can be seen not only in the construction site, but also in every power site in Chongqing.

On September 20, Zheng Hongqiang, an employee of the State Grid Chongqing Beibei Power Supply Company, and his colleagues, checked the electricity consumption in the Damotan Wetland Park for the safety hazards and ensure the safety of electricity consumption in the scenic area during the Mid-Autumn Festival. “The air at home is sweet because it is filled with the smell of reunion, but the air in the park is warm because it is beautiful to watch everyone spend their holidays here.”

It is learned that during the Mid-Autumn Festival, there are more than 5000 electric power employees on duty in Chongqing, who are on call 24 hours a day and go all out to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid and the reliable supply of power.
