Chongqing A-class scenic spots receive 4.32 million tourists this year during mid-autumn festival

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the Chongqing Culture and Tourism Commission released the news that during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Chongqing A-class tourist attractions received a total of 4.32 million visitors, an increase of 2.3% compared with 2019.

Among them, urban tourism is the most popular, such as Hongyadong Folk Scenic Area, Ciqikou Ancient Town and Chongqing Zoo received 149,000, 76,300 and 82,000 visitors respectively; rural tourism is very favored. For example, Nanchuan Ecological Grand View Garden, Changshou Lake Tourist Area and Hechuan Youyuan Villa received 95,000, 84,000 and 67,000 tourists respectively.

In terms of cultural and tourism activities, 43 public libraries and 41 cultural centers in Chongqing were open for free, with 639,000 visits, 760,000 online services, and 233 citizen cultural activities involving 523,000 people.

Among them, Hechuan District's “Our Festival - Mid-Autumn Festival” performance was shown on the cloud platform and watched by 35,000 people in total.

Chongqing Library, Nanan District and Shizhu County carried out various types of mid-autumn celebration citizen cultural activities to attract more than 200,000 people to participate.

All museums in Chongqing received about 36,000 visitors. Municipal professional art units carried out 16 performances with 3,285 audiences.

Many districts and counties in Chongqing held various activities to welcome the traditional festival, such as hitting glutinous rice cake, mooncakes, lanterns, and cultural parties like the “Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinese Costume” in Ciqikou of Shapingba District, and “Our Festival - Mid-Autumn Festival” in Hechuan District and other special cultural performances.
