CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve Management Center released a news saying that recently, the staff found that the seven-colored pheasants were captured when they were checking the recovered infrared video.

There are two seven-colored chickens in the video. The male seven-colored chickens have colorful coats and long tails, while the female seven-colored chickens have grayish-brown coats and shorter tails than the male. They are looking for food in the grass together, but also from time to time look up or around, vigilantly check the surrounding environment, in which they look very cute.

It is learned that the seven-colored pheasant is a national second-class protected animal, slightly smaller in size than the domestic chicken, but with a much longer tail and omnivorous eating pattern that varies with the region and season. The males have gorgeous plumage, with white collars all around their necks, and metallic green necks, forming a remarkable contrast; the tail feathers are long and have horizontal spots. The females have dull plumage, mostly brown and tan, mixed with black spots; tail feathers are also shorter.

Yintiaoling Nature Reserve is located in Wuxi, Chongqing. In recent years, due to the continuous strengthening of local protection of wildlife, in addition to the seven-colored pheasants, national wildlife protection animals such as black bears and red muntjacs have also been photographed.
