The Park is located in the Gailanxi Area, the inner side of Beibin 2nd Road, Jiangbei District, radiating the surrounding communities and the central business district of Jiangbeizui. After the park was opened, it became the first choice of the nearby residents for recreation.

But many people do not know that Jiangbeizui Riverside Park is actually a park built on the slope. Building a park on the slope tests the true construction skill of the city manager.

The Park on the slope: Creating “flat land” on a barren slope

Jiangbeizui Riverside Park, with an area of about 33,000 square meters, is an important livelihood project to improve the governance of Chongqing’s “two rivers and four banks” and is currently managed by the Jiangbei District Urban Public Area Management Office.

With the theme of “bright colors and flowers in four seasons”, the Park has set up a “national flag red” red plum viewing area, a cherry blossom play area and a walking jungle zone. At the same time, according to different functional needs, the Park creates children’s play area, waterfront viewing area, park leisure area, etc.

As soon as you enter the Park, you can see the red Chinese style park sign building, where you can cool off, take shelter from the rain and take pictures...

There is also an open square in the center of the Park. Because of this, it is not easy to associate this park with the park on the slope, but Wang Lijuan, a citizen who lives nearby, has witnessed the whole process of turning the barren slope into “flat land” here.

“It used to be a barren slope with unevenness, so I never thought it would become such a beautiful park.” Wang Lijuan praised the park with the word “magic”. In her eyes, this is the representative of the most beautiful park on the slope.

In fact, Riverside Park was designed with the topographical features of the area into full consideration. When you appreciate this park carefully, it is not difficult for you to find the slope features on it.

The main entrance of the Park is a section of gentle steps, and the surrounding slope uses a large area of greenery to hide the original slope terrain, so that the public is unaware of the “climbing” into the park.

Playground by the river: Watching the river while running for fitness

Today, Jiangbeizui Riverside Park has become a riverside playground for the surrounding residents. When you walk through the Park, you will be greeted by colorful flowers. This summer, the park’s plums ripened, so many residents saw this “rare” harvest. It is not common to plant plum trees in urban landscaping.

“We hope that the public will have new discoveries and surprises every time they come here.” The person in charge of Jiangbei District Urban Management Bureau introduced, in the green design, the Park has fully considered the seasonal changes of spring, autumn, winter and summer, with flowers blooming in each season.

At the same time, the Park has also set up a square and a special track, providing the public with a wide sports field. The red track is spread out flat in the park, and people can run to their heart’s content; when they are tired of running, they can also rest on the green seats next to it.

Because the Park is built on a slope, the Park is a little higher than the Beibin 2nd Road, creating a waterfront viewing platform where the public can look out along the river. The whole park ground is higher than the surrounding roads, so the public can see the river at the main entrance of the Park.
