SOFIA, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition on Chinese ethnic costumes opened here on Saturday in front of the National Palace of Culture in the Bulgarian capital.

The three-week exhibition, titled "Splendid Costumes of Chinese Ethnic Groups" and organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria with Sofia Municipality and art association Dolphin as co-organizers, features 58 photos.

Through the colorful and magnificent costumes, the photos present the spectacular historical changes and cultural evolution of the Chinese nation, as well as its solidarity, unity, beauty and harmony.

Clothing is not only an element of human life, but also an important carrier of national culture, which embodies the customs and aesthetic sense of different nationalities, the organizers said. Enditem
