Domestic comedy "Be Somebody" leads Chinese box office
BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Domestic comedy-suspense film "Be Somebody" grabbed the top spot on the Chinese mainland box office chart on its first day of screening Thursday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed Friday.
The film follows a group of frustrated filmmakers who gather to plan on a new film about a notorious criminal case with no idea that the real danger is lurking around.
The film finished the day with a box office revenue of 11.8 million yuan (about 1.8 million U.S. dollars).
The latest James Bond film "No Time to Die" came in second, generating 5.8 million yuan in revenue on Thursday.
It was followed by the war epic film "The Battle at Lake Changjin," which raked in about 4.6 million yuan. Enditem
