Construction of another cross-river bridge starts

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Reporter learned from Chongqing Housing and Urban-rural Construction Commission that there will be another cross-river bridge, and the construction of Ma’anshi Multiple Track Bridge has officially started.
The person in charge of Chongqing Housing and Urban-rural Construction Commission introduced that Maanshi Multiple Track Bridge is the control node project of the Expansion and Reconstruction of Chongqing - Wuhan Highway. Led by Chongqing City Construction and Development Co., Ltd., a subordinate enterprise of Chongqing Real Estate Group Co., Ltd., the Expansion and Reconstruction of Chongqing - Wuhan Highway starts from Jinkai Avenue, and ends at Expressway Yihengxian, total in 13.9km, with a designed speed of 80 km/hour.

As for the Expansion and Reconstruction of Chongqing - Wuhan Highway, the bidirectional 4 lanes + emergency lane will be expanded to be bidirectional 8 lanes + emergency lane. The reconstruction covers 1 specially long span bridge (Ma’anshi Multiple Track Bridge), 6 interchanges (including Dayun Interchange, Baiyunlu Interchange, Baimai Interchange, Shuangyan Interchange, Feicui Interchange and Caijia Interchange) which started in March 2021. After completion of the Project, it will effectively relieve the current traffic congestion of Chongqing - Wuhan Highway, improve the traffic environment of the northwest gateway to the outside of the downtown area, and connect several horizontal channels in downtown area.
According to the person in charge of China Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau Corp., Ltd. which is the construction unit of Ma’anshi Multiple Track Bridge, Ma’anshi Multiple Track Bridge is a specially long span bridge crossing over the Jialing River. The Bridge is 1422m in total, located at the upstream of Maanshi Bridge and in parallel with the existing Maanshi Bridge. After completion of the Bridge, it will connect Lijia and Caijia, further easing traffic congestion on the existing Ma’anshi Bridge. (Translated by Liu Hongyan, Fathom Language Limited)
