Resumption of some cinemas in Chongqing

2021-11-19 09:33:48

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On November 17, the reporter of Chongqing Daily visited some cinemas such as CGV Cinema (Raffles City Chongqing), UME International Cinema (Yuzhong) and PALACE Cinema (The Mixc) and found that them have already reopened to the public.

“After waiting for a long time, I can finally watch Anita.” Outside CGV Cinema (Raffles City Chongqing) that afternoon, Liu Xiaofeng, a local resident who had just bought two tickets for the movie Anita, said excitedly to a friend accompanying him. Beside him, many people wore masks and kept a safe distance of about one meter to choose their preferred films through the automated ticketing machines.

“This morning, our cinema officially resumed operation.” Jia Peng, the shop manager of CGV Cinema (Raffles City Chongqing), told the reporter that they uploaded today’s scheduling information through APPs such as Taopiaopiao last night. “The public was so enthusiastic that we sold dozens of movie tickets once we updated the scheduling information. Early this morning, many people came to the cinema and waited at the hall to prepare for the movie."

After a visit, the reporter found that a number of cinemas, including Wanda Cinema (Daping IMAX) and UME International Cinema (Yuzhong), also resumed business on the same day. For the safety of the public, these cinemas have strictly followed the instructions of the Guideline for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 in the Resumption of Film Screening Venues of the China Film Distribution and Projection Association (hereinafter referred to as the Guideline) to prevent and control the epidemic.  Jia Peng said that they have also increased the frequency of cinema hall’s disinfection and the number of patrols by staff to provide a safe environment for the public to watch films.
