Black-headed gulls come to Chongqing again

2021-11-19 14:34:53

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A batch of special “visitors” comes to Chongqing in November every year.

Sometimes they fly over the water, sometimes they splash on the river, and sometimes they fly to the crowd for food and play. These graceful birds, called black-headed gulls, come from as far as Siberia and are a type of wild migrant.

Black-headed gulls that settled in the north will regularly migrate to south for wintering each year. They like to rest and move on rivers and lakes with good water quality and environment during migration. In recent winters, they are all over Chongqing.

In recent years, Chongqing prioritizes ecological and green development and accelerated the construction of a beautiful land with beautiful mountains and clear waters. The initial results have been achieved the expectation under the operation of “Four Banks of Two Rivers”. The ecological environment of the water area has been continuously improved. More and more migrants choose to stop in Chongqing during their migration.

Wanzhou takes ecological protection and restoration as the basic premise of its development. The county strives to promote the overall green transformation of economic and social development, and build important ecological barriers in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. With the protection of the Yangtze River as the core and the improvement of regional water quality as the center, Wanzhou will accelerate the development of an ecological corridor along the Yangtze River, and focus on implementing green construction along the Yangtze River so as to strengthen the protection of aquatic biological resources and environmental restoration of the Yangtze River, and attract black-headed gulls to Wanzhou which have more food choices.

Yuzhong: “Spearheads” arrived at Chaotianmen

With the improvement of ecological environment, Chaotianmen water area has become a “post station” for many migrants. The frequent presence of wild birds is also a demonstration of the improvement of the environment in the waters of the two rivers. During their stay, they fly in the air, ask people for food, or sing clearly and melodiously, attracting countless citizens to watch birds.

Black-headed gulls visited Nan’an again on November 11. Flocks of black-headed gulls flew over the river near Landmark Riverside, Nanbin Road.

In recent years, Nan’an District has earnestly implemented the protection task of the Yangtze River Ecological Belt, carried out the construction of key ecological projects, and created a beautiful picture of “blue sky, green land and clean water” along the river. “It’s wonderful to stand on Nanbin Road, see seagulls flying over the river, and feel the ‘green’ breath from Nanshan Mountain and Guangyang Isle,” a passers-by said.

Qijiang: The ecological environment continues improving and wild animals frequently appear

In every migratory bird migration season, black-headed gulls will come to Qijiang. The picture that they feed and play on the water is a beautiful landscape. Meanwhile, in order to fully maintain the biodiversity, Qijiang District increases the inspection and disposal efforts, carries out a comprehensive fasting of wild animals, and lets the awareness of wildlife protection root in residents’ hearts through posting notices, slogans and other ways.

Tongnan: Fujiang becomes a “five-star station” for black-headed gulls during migration

In recent years, Tongnan has adhered to the road of ecological priority and green development, continuously promoted the construction of ecological civilization, innovatively promoted the experience and practices, and promoted the continuous improvement of water environment. Tongnan ranked as the city with the most beautiful rivers and lakes in the first three quarters of this year.

With the continuous improvement of the ecological environment, Fujiang, with green mountains and excellent water quality, has gradually become a “post station” during the migration of black-headed gulls. Residents in Tongnan also have the opportunity to “date” the “guests” from Siberia.

The clear water runs toward east. I believe that in the future there will be more migrants “meet” with us in Chongqing. (Translated by Liu Hongyan, Fathom Language Limited)
