CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, three trees in Dazhulin Sub-district, Liangjiang New Area have become popular online, and attracted dozens or even hundreds of photographers to come for them every day.

In the unusual warm early winter sun,

a white-headed bird stands on a persimmon tree, 

as it prepares for dinner.

This is not paradise,

but an old courtyard located at Fengqituo, Dazhulin Sub-district, Liangjiang New Area.

Fengqituo is an old community.

This courtyard is the worker dormitory of Chongqing Second Brick Factory,

surrounded by photography enthusiasts,

every day recently.

Guo Xinfu, 63 years old, is a retired worker from the Second Brick Factory  

lived in this courtyard for 32 years.

The three persimmon trees were planted 34 years ago,

when his son asked him to put the seeds in a flower pot.

When the seedlings grew to a height of one person,

trees were moved to the courtyard for shade.

He said that the three trees yielded nearly five kilograms of fruits,

and he shared it with neighbors for past years.

One year he tried to leave some of them alone,

and the left persimmons attracted birds,

persimmon trees were free from pests in the following year.

Facing his “feast”,

the birds were very happy. 

They were on the branches,

and found the softest one to enjoy.

The news spread among photography enthusiasts. 

That such ecological beauty could be captured

in the downtown area of Chongqing,

and the shutter sound under the persimmon trees 

sounded like a shooting range.

The birds were used to being watched.

Sometimes they were eating,

or resting,

or playing,

or performing in front of cameras.

More and more strangers came here.

Someone in the community suggested him to reap the persimmons.

He strongly disagreed,

because he didn’t want to spoil everyone’s fun.

He hasn’t picked any persimmons this year.

Although he didn't know anything about photography,

he can feel the enthusiasm of photographers.

Before he only felt that

the trees’ height was a thing; 

Now there were more and more fruits,

and the birds came here more often.

Seeing the close-up in the camera,

he found that the birds in the persimmon trees

were all lovely and clever.

Some photographers brought lunch

and stuck around all day.

They all thought that the new “attraction” was worth waiting.

Previously, scenes like this had to be filmed more than 200 kilometers away in the mountains,

Including white-headed bulbul, red-billed blue magpie, starling, hydrangea...

more than 10 species of birds have been photographed on persimmon trees.

Persimmon means “all the best” in Chinese.

Someone had offered to buy these three trees,

but Mr. Guo did not agree.

After living 34 years with these persimmon trees, he grew affection with these trees,

and persimmon trees animate the courtyard.

This year they were even more popular.

Due to urban development,

Fengqituo Community will also finish its development and transformation.

The three persimmon trees are dozens of meters apart.

There is a cultural relic called Wangjiayuanzi,

And Mr. Guo wanted these trees to remain in place along with the relic.
