CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter just learned from Chongqing Ecological Environment Bureau that as of November 24, the number of days in Chongqing with excellent air quality has reached 300 this year, among which 141 days are with excellent air quality and there has not been a single day with severe pollution. All six indicators for evaluating air quality have met requirements.

The "Thousand Mile Eye" automatically identifies air pollution, realizing the transformation from civil air defense to technical defense; while Sichuan and Chongqing take unified action, sharing air pollution warning information and weather forecast, and the adjacent districts and counties jointly reinforce the management and control of dust, industrial pollution, traffic pollution and domestic pollution sources... To deal with the effects of adverse conditions for atmospheric diffusion in this autumn and winter, Chongqing has specially, taken multiple measures at the same time to fight a tough battle of air pollution prevention and control.

At present, Chongqing has set up 17 high-altitude lookout monitoring spots in the city, covering 11 key monitoring areas such as Wanzhou, Shapingba and Jiangbei Districts. Since the beginning of this year, 6227 air pollution events have already been observed including 3027 open-air incineration, 1998 dust pollution on the construction site and 1202 other air pollution events. A total of more than 5800 air pollution warning images and warning messages have been sent, while more than 5100 gas related pollution problems have been handled in time.

In the middle of November, a large-scale pollution process lasting for 7 days occurred in Sichuan and Chongqing area, during which Chongqing only had one day of mild pollution. This is a benefit from the deepening of joint prevention and control of air pollution in Sichuan and Chongqing area. The ecological and environmental departments of the two places had 6 negotiations and jointly launched pollution warning and countermeasures.

"Under the influence of the large energy consumption in winter and adverse meteorological conditions, our city will still face 3-5 rounds of local pollution process this winter," said a relevant person of Chongqing Ecological Environment Bureau.

In the next step, one-on-one video consultation and on-site supervision will be carried out to strengthen the supervision and assistance of coal-fired power units and elevated pollution sources, as well as the inspection of dust, straw and hay burning; Strengthen the unified action between Sichuan and Chongqing, and give full play of the leading role of Wanzhou and Dazhou, Yongchuan and Neijiang, Luzhou, Hechuan and Guang'an, to carry out an in-depth assistance and unified action for cross inspection and special supervision, and fight for every one of the blue skies.
