CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, a dazzling array of specialties from various countries appeared on 2021 International Cultural Festival held at Sichuan International Studies University, including filter coffee from Vietnam, cream cake from France, tea culture from China, and more.
The reporter saw a total of 32 exhibition areas, including 28 cultural exhibition areas for China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and other countries, as well as 4 featured exhibition areas. In the cultural exhibition areas, there were not only special products from different countries, but also students introducing the local customs, clothing and food of the country. Many students said that it was the first time for them to have such a diversified exchange experience. They not only displayed their own professional culture, but also learned about the history and culture of other countries.
“I felt nervous but proud as I walked out in front of everyone when wearing Han Chinese costume.” Yang Junyi, a student of the College of Chinese Language and Culture of Sichuan International Studies University, told the reporter that there was also a display session during the exhibition; and she felt honored as a representative for Chinese culture display, as she walked in front of the stage and heard everyone’s cheers.
Romain, an international student from France, said, “I am so happy. It is amazing that so many cultures exchange together!”
Sichuan International Studies University held 2021 International Cultural Festival to carry out the task of constructing universities with international characteristics in Chongqing, keep creating an international atmosphere in the university, improve the international level of the university, and gradually create international cultural exchange activities with a certain brand effect in Chongqing, and provide a platform for international talent training.
Zhu Tianxiang, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Sichuan International Studies University, introduced that such cultural exchanges and mutual learning would not only help the university to activate the international atmosphere of the campus by relying on the advantages of multiple languages, but also help the university to explore more audiences from the whole city.
“As the only foreign language university in southwest China, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) should play its role in leading cultural exchanges between China and other countries and promoting mutual learning among diverse cultures.” Zhu Tianxiang introduced that in the future, the university would build the Cultural Festival into an international cultural exchange brand activity with the characteristics of SISU so that the festival would go out of the campus and face the whole city and even the whole west.
