According to Expansion Headquarters of Chongqing Airport Group, recently, the roof of four corridors of Jiangbei International Airport T3B has been partially capped, and the main structure is expected to be completely capped in June this year 2022.

According to the plan, the T3B of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport under construction currently is the satellite hall of T3A which has been put into use, covering an area of about 360,000 square meters. It is composed of the main building and four corridors. The main body adopts cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame structure. The roof adopts steel grid structure, and the supporting column adopts concrete filled steel tube column.
Up to now, more than 2,000 workers have been working on the construction of T3B. The project has completed 1.5 million square meters of earth and stone, 200 thousand square meters of concrete, 35 thousand tons of steel bar. And 60% of the main structure of the corridor has been completed. The steel structure engineering of T3B has completed the installation of 201 first section steel columns and all steel columns and beams of L1 floor and below of the central hall. About 20% of the total steel structure engineering quantity has been completed. It is expected that the main structure will be fully capped by the end of June this year.

After completion, T3B will meet the throughput of 35 million passengers in the next year. It is mainly for the domestic passenger waiting function, and forms an integrated operation with T3A for domestic flights. After the completion of T3B, check-in and security check will still be in T3A. If you need to go to T3B for boarding, there will be a monorail connecting those two terminals, which is very convenient for passengers.

In this expansion, T3B fully implements the construction goal of world-class “Four-Standard Airport”, focuses on overall planning and fine design, and creates the “largest single satellite hall” attracting global attention.

After completion, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport will have four runways and four terminals, meeting the annual passenger throughput of 80 million, airplanes takeoff and landing of 580,000, cargo throughput of 1.2 million tons, and further improving its operation support capacity.
