Yuan Xinyue, a girl from Chongqing, fills a post as the new leader of the Chinese women’s volleyball team

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Several days ago, China Volleyball Association announced the list of athletes that will participate in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL). Yuan Xinyue, a girl from Chongqing, filled the post as the newly-appointed leader of the Chinese women’s volleyball team. She is the fourth reception attacker being appointed as the leader followed by Cao Huiying, Lai Yawen and Wu Yongmei. 2022 VNL will begin on May 31. At the stage of the races, the Chinese women’s volleyball team will participate in the Turkey, Philippines and Bulgaria races. According to the timetable, the first match of the Chinese women’s volleyball team will begin on June 1 at the local time.

As indicated by the materials, Yuan Xinyue was born on December 21, 1991, in Chongqing. With her height and good physical quality, Yuan enrolled in Bayi Volleyball Club in 2009 and began her career.

In the 2014 World Women’s Volleyball Champion, she was entrusted a mission at the difficult moment when Xu Yunli, her experienced teammate, got injured, and helped the team to win the runner-up again after 16 years last time with her excellent performance. Since then, she has gradually grown to be the backbone force of the team. With her great attacks, the team won four first prized respectively in the 2015 World Women’s Volleyball Cup, 2016 Tokyo Olympics, 2017 World Women’s Grand Champions Cup and 2019 World Women’s Volleyball Cup.
