After the new train diagram put into use, Chongqing Railway Station (Caiyuanba Railway Station) will also stop passenger service.

Taking the high standard operation of trains in Beijing – Wuhan Section of Beijing – Guangzhou High-speed Railway with normal speed at 350km per hour as an opportunity, the railway department will fully improve to adjust the train diagram of central high-speed railway network with Beijing – Guangzhou High-speed Railway as the main skeleton, covering Zhengzhou – Chongqing, Zhengzhou – Taiyuan, Zhengzhou – Fuyang, Wuhan – Shiyan, Shanghai – Chongqing – Chengdu and other high-speed railway lines. 57 high quality benchmark trains with speed of 350 km/h will be put into use, covering 16 provinces and cities (districts), and the ties between Beijing – Tianjin – Hebei urban cluster, Central Plains urban cluster, Wuhan city circle and the twin-city economic circle of Chengdu – Chongqing region will be closer.

After the full operation of Zhengzhou – Chongqing High-speed Railway, passengers can take high-speed trains from Beijingxi Railway Station to Chongqingbei Railway Station with the shortest commuting time at 6 hours and 46 minutes, cutting 4 hours 24 minutes. The journeys between Zhengzhoudong, Hankou and Chongqingbei will be in 4 hours 23 minutes and 4 hours 57 minutes respectively. At the same time, 48 pairs of bullet trains will be added in the section of Xiangyangdong to Wanzhoubei, with up to 106 trains running a single day.
