CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 3:00 am on June 23, Hainan Airlines flight HU7991 took off from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, indicating the formal resumption of the air-passenger service from Chongqing to Rome, which had been suspended for 2 years and 6 months. It is the first regular European flight at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport since the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and also the only direct regular passenger flight to Rome in China. Chongqing General Immigration Inspection Station has completed the task of outbound border inspection for the flight resumption safely and efficiently.
The Chongqing to Rome air-passenger route was grounded in January 2020, one flight every Thursday after flight reopening. At 1:50 a.m., the plane takes off from the T3 terminal of Jiangbei International Airport and will arrive in Rome at 7:50 a.m. In order to ensure the smooth resumption of flights, Chongqing General Immigration Inspection Station strictly implement the requirements of tackling imported infections by the State Administration of Immigration and Chongqing Municipal Government, playing a functional role as a border inspection authority, formulating special support plans in advance, and adopting a number of measures to help aviation enterprises return to work and production.
