Ma Yijun is an Italian-American born in New York, USA. He is the founder and CEO of M Media Group, media commentator, permanent media commentator and documentary host of CCTV, think tank researcher, and member of Huawei's global thought leadership team, as well as a writer, speaker, actor and jazz pianist.

In October 1999, Ma Yijun came to Chinese Mainland for the first time for business activities, and that was also his first visit to Chongqing. He still remembered living near the Three Gorges Square at that time. He recalled that the large-scale urban construction had not yet begun, and there were not so many high-rise buildings there. Now the changes have been too great.

Ma Yijun has lived in Chengdu, Chongqing, Sanya, Hangzhou, Shanghai and other cities. In 2007, Ma Yijun married a Chinese wife and had a son. In 2018, he settled in Shenyang, Liaoning, his wife's hometown.

This time, Ma Yijun was invited by the Chongqing International Communication Center to participate in the "Well-known International Commentator's Visit to Chongqing". From July 1 to 4, he visited Chongqing Luhai New Channel Operation Co., Ltd., Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park, Guangyang Bay Smart Innovation Eco-city, Banan Fengsheng Waste Incineration Power Plant, etc., and deeply felt the new achievements of Chongqing's economic construction and development.

Ma Yijun said that he has a close tie with the Chongqing city. "I will not forget the people and things I have encountered in different cities in China over the past 23 years, and Chongqing is the beginning of all these adventures."

At that time, Ma Yijun often traveled between Chongqing and Chengdu due to work, and it took more than four hours to take the Chengdu-Chongqing long-distance bus.
