CHONGQING (CQNEWS) – Recently, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) held a graduation ceremony for the 2022 graduate students. 774 doctoral and master students successfully completed their studies and obtained their degrees in 2022.

At the graduation ceremony of graduate students of SISU, there was such a family of four, who caused cheers on the spot.
It is known that the mentioned doctor is Li Shengmao, 40 years old. He is currently a teacher at School of English Studies of SISU. During the six years of studying for a doctorate in English Language and Literature at the university, he and his wife raised two children together.

"Actually today, a family of five came to the stage to get the certificate, because the doctoral dissertation is my third child." Li Shengmao introduced that he met his wife when he was teaching at SISU. After getting married in 2015, he began to study for a doctorate in the next year. Working and studying at the same time, Li Shengmao also had a family to take care of; therefore, he extended his Ph.D. study time. Colleagues joked with him that his most successful thing in the past few years was raising two children.
Li Shengmao told the reporter that on the day he passed his doctoral dissertation defense, he cried a lot, and had a dinner with his classmates to celebrate the "completeness of life". He had only a relaxed smile on his face when he took the stage that day. "The happiness and joy that the children brought outweighs the difficulties of work and school," he said.
