The Garden Construction Festival is the first time out of the campus
It is understood that there are 10 groups of works on display in this construction festival, including the collection of creative glue dripping works "Seed Theory", and eight garden construction works "Space-time Traveler's Painting Scroll", "Lights from thousands of homes", "Fisher and woodcutter by the water", "Searching in the bright lane", "Mountain shadow in the mist", "Songs by the River · Phantom around the Mountain City", "Magnificent house" and "Mysterious realm of weaving shadow". The theme of this construction festival is "Looking for fragrant flowers and plants in the Maintain City Lane". This theme not only describes the complex relationship of the space of the Maintain City Lane, but also represents the splendid theme of this exhibition. Viewers can immerse themselves in the space of changing scenery in the Maintain City Lane, and explore the interests of landscape aesthetics.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition is connected with "Flourishing roots, spring flowers and autumn fruits", and is divided into four themes: root, leave, flower and fruit. Among them, the theme "Root" shows the works of the teachers' team of Landscape Architecture Department of Southwest University, the theme "Leaf" is the exhibition of students' works of Landscape Architecture Department of Southwest University, the theme "Flower" shows eight works of real scenes of this restoration and construction festival, and the theme "Fruit" is the exhibition of alumni's works of Landscape Architecture Department of Southwest University.
Luo Aijun, deputy director of the Landscape Architecture Department of the School of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Southwest University, introduced that this was the third time that Southwest University had held the Garden Construction Festival, and unlike the previous two sessions, this was the first time that it was held out of campus this year. "The annual Garden Construction Festival exhibition is an innovative practical activity held in combination with curriculum teaching, aiming to enhance students' teamwork ability and cultivate imaginative and creative design talents through the construction experience of overlapping application of material construction and artistic expression," said Luo Aijun .
"Starry sky" and "seeds" in the exhibition
The reporter saw from the scene that more than 200 kinds of seeds were collected in the creative glue dripping work of "Maintain City Lane, Seed Theory", which condensed into crystal clear amber, and breeds infinite vitality in the "desert" made of rice bran and grain chestnut. Dai Lu, executive deputy director of the Institute of Space Art of Southwest University, told reporters that this work is intended to convey to the general audience the concept of "seeds are the 'chips' of food, and their safety cause is related to our country's food security, national security, and people's security".
"The bamboo weaving technique of 'intangible cultural heritage' is used in this work." Zhou Xu, the creator of the works "Lights from thousands of homes" told reporters. Using bamboo weaving, lighting, space design, and hanging, interspersed, and combined lighting techniques to create three semi-circular bamboo weaving models imitating the geomorphic characteristics of the three-dimensional Chongqing city. The audience can not only feel the magical atmosphere of "people walking in the mountains and mountains living in the fog" under the transformation of solar light sources from afar, but also lie in the "urban honeycomb" with a height of 1.7 meters and a diameter of 2.4 meters to look up to the "starlight all over the sky" and see all the "lights of thousands of homes". It is worth mentioning that there are still photos of the production process in this work, which attracted many citizens to stop and watch.
