CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- "Go to the west, go to the grassroots, go where our motherland and the people need ......" On the evening of July 26, a group of young volunteers wearing Bauhinia colored clothes departed from Chongqingxi Railway Station and would go to Tibet to carry out volunteer services.

"When you arrive here, you must pay attention to your body." At Chongqingxi Railway Station, 28-year-old Huang Chunhua made a special trip to see off her sister Qin Yujie. Since she had participated in the western program and went to Tibet in 2018, she recommended her sister who graduated this year go to experience and exercise.

Huang Chunhua said that both her sister and her are from the countryside and are not afraid of hardship. What she only worried is that her thin sister may have altitude sickness. But she encouraged her sister to be strong and overcome difficulties. "If you can, try to stay in the local area after the service."

It is understood that in April this year, since the recruitment and dispatch of the western program was launched, through the written examination, interview, physical examination and other links, the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China has comprehensively examined the fresh graduates of Chongqing colleges and universities enrolled in the Tibetan special program. Considering the ideological and political thought, academic achievements, voluntary services, health status and other aspects, and in combination with the specific needs of Tibet, 33 people were finally selected.

At the same time, three universities including Chongqing University, Southwest University and Chongqing Normal University have sent 12 postgraduate volunteers to Changdu, Tibet to provide volunteer teaching services.

As a volunteer of the postgraduate volunteering teaching group of Chongqing Normal University, Xu Jing graduated from art education. Her previous experience of volunteering in Chengkou made her moved by children in remote areas, so she immediately signed up when she knew this opportunity.

"I hope to use what I have learned in my major to bring better education to Tibetan children and help them become better men," said Xu Jing.
