The collection of the Three Gorges Museum selected again as the national special stamps

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 4 special stamps of Chinese seal engraving on August 5. The golden seal of the Queen Mother Shuoning of the Han Dynasty collected by Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum is honored to be selected. This is the second time that the collection of the Three Gorges Museum has been selected into the national special stamps after 23 years.

It is reported that the golden seal of the Queen Mother Shuoning of the Han Dynasty is made of pure gold (Fineness: 95.5), with a side length of 2.4cm, a height of 2cm and a weight of 112.6g. It is a national first-class cultural relic. The gold seal is a tortoise button square seal that is finely made. The seal face is engraved with six characters of "Seal of the Queen Mother Shuoning" and the layout is generous.

In addition to the seal of the Queen Mother Shuoning of Han Dynasty in the Three Gorges Museum, the special stamps issued this time also include Waisiluduan of the Warring States Period and the Seal of Zhongshu Province of Tang Dynasty in the Palace Museum in Beijing, as well as the Yiyangjin seal of Qin Dynasty in the Shanghai Museum.

It is understood that special stamps refer to stamps with special purposes or special functions in many countries and regions, while special stamps in China refer to stamps with specific topics and patterns other than commemorative stamps and ordinary stamps. The precious cultural relics of the themes of historical sites should be introduced based on different series according the stipulation. The cultural relics included in the content of the stamp topics must be national first-class cultural relics.

The special stamps of Stone Relief of the Han Dynasty issued in 1999 selected the carts and horses travel stone relief of the Eastern Han Dynasty from the collection of the Three Gorges Museum.
