CDC adjusts health management measures for people to Chongqing

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 112th press conference on the prevention and control of COVID-19 in Chongqing was held on August 10. Luo Fei, the chief physician from Chongqing Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), released that after the comprehensive studies conducted by experts, Chongqing CDC has adjusted and optimized the health management measures for people coming and returning to Chongqing from August 9 to August 31, the period that sees large passenger flows.

The measures mainly include:

1. The health management measures for people coming and returning to Chongqing who has been to low-risk and medium-risk areas for the last 7 days, should be implemented in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations required by The Health Management Measures for People Coming and Returning to Chongqing from Key Domestic Areas (Third Version in 2022) (Revised Edition).

2. People coming and returning to Chongqing from domestic areas (“Prefecture-level city” is used as statistical unit for provinces and autonomous regions, and “district” for municipalities directly under the central government)where local COVID-19 cases has been reported for the last 7 days, should receive 2 separate nucleic acid tests for the first 3 day upon arrival in Chongqing.

Upon their arrival in Chongqing, travelers have to receive a nucleic acid test at a free test site set up at the airport, railway station, coach station, wharf, or the exit of a highway immediately. They also need to report their health condition to the local community (villages) through the mini apps “Health QR Code in Chongqing” on WeChat or Alipay App, or by scanning the QR code provided by the community, and then receive another nucleic acid test within 3 days.

Please note that the 2 tests should be taken with a 24-hour interval, and it is advised to avoid going out before the results are released. If necessary, travelers should obtain the consent of the community for going out, carry out self-protection measures, avoid gatherings and parties, and avoid using public transport and going to enclosed public areas.

For those travelers who transfer to other provinces (districts or cities), they need to receive a nucleic acid test at a free test site set up at the airport, railway station, coach station or wharf. Before leaving Chongqing, they need to carry out self-protection measures and avoid using public transport.

3. All people coming and returning to Chongqing from other domestic areas have to receive a nucleic acid test instantly upon arrival. Among students and teachers coming and returning to Chongqing from other domestic areas, those who has stayed in medium and high-risk areas for the past 7 days are temporarily not allowed to return to school; other students and teachers have to show their negative nucleic acid result within 48 hours and receive 2 separate nucleic acid tests for the first 3 day upon arrival at school.
