CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On August 12, workers were working at the construction site of Zhongliang Mountain Tunnel of the double line of Yubei-Wusheng Expressway in Beibei District.

The double line of Yubei-Wusheng Expressway (Beibei to Hechuan section) starts at the G75 Caijia interchange in Beibei District, and is rebuilt after widening and renovating 2.001km of the old G75 road. The newly built section passes through Shijialiang Town, Shuitu Town, Dongyang Street, Chengjiang Town and Caojie Street, ending at Pengjiayan Interchange, with a total length of 35.530km.

It is reported that as the control project of the whole line – Zhongliang Mountain Tunnel is about 5.3km long, with karst caves, coal seams, gas and other unfavorable geological conditions, so the construction is difficult. To ensure construction safety, a gas monitoring system has been installed in the tunnel, which will immediately alarm once the gas concentration exceeds the standard.

The double line of Yubei-Wusheng Expressway (Beibei to Hechuan section) is an important project for the traffic interconnection of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. When completed, the traffic pressure between the main urban districts of Chongqing and Sichuan Nanchong and Wusheng will be greatly relieved and the running time will be greatly shortened.
