CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the Chongqing Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Leading Group Office advocated that the citizens should use electricity properly and conserve electrical power. The party and government institutions, and state-owned enterprises and institutions should play a leading role in smart and proper electricity use and start their efforts right away upon just a small step, so as to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the city.

The reporter learned from Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group Co., Ltd. that all rail stations in Chongqing have fully implemented energy-saving measures in accordance with the principle of “rational use of energy, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement”.

A few days ago, the reporter visited Yanping station of Line 4 and found that one of the escalator at the Exit 2B had been out of service. Iron bars were set at both ends, with a piece of A4 paper posted on each of them reading, “energy saving and emission reduction for the transport peak and hot summer”.

When entering the station hall, you can find that 3 of the 4 parallel-arranged automatic ticket machines beside the security entrance were out of service, and only half of the LED lights in orderly rows on the top of the station hall were on.

Without affecting the safe travel of passengers and the passenger services of the station, the lighting in the public area of the entire Line 4 was operated in “energy-saving” mode. To be specific, only half of the lighting in the public areas underground were on, and the lighting in the halls and platforms of the elevated stations was off during the day.” It is introduced that non-essential electricity use would be reduced by temporarily closing the unused advertising light boxes and other unnecessary equipment and facilities of the entire rail line.
