"Cool" ways for heatstroke prevention offered by Chongqing Expressway for your travel

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter learned that the Chongqing Expressway Group has introduced a number of measures for heatstroke prevention for the convenience of the public to ensure the safety and convenient travel for drivers and passengers.

According to Chongqing Expressway Group, they have set up convenient medical sites in 87 pairs of service areas, and organized volunteers to provide drivers with free cool drinks, heatstroke prevention medicine, etc.

Among them, 18 sites, including Weilong Service Area, Jingguan Service Area, Wulong Service Area, Fuling West Service Area, Tongnan Service Area, Wanzhou Service Area, Daguan Service Area, Zengjia Service Area, Pengshui Service Area, Jiangjin Service Area, Longxihe Service Area, Rongchang Service Area, Lengshui Service Area, Dazhai Service Area, Fusheng Service Area, as well as the ETC North Ring Business Hall, are equipped with all-in-one emergency rescue machines, which can provide first aids such as CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and trauma bandaging for drivers and passengers.

"Drivers' home" in 12 pairs of service areas of Chongqing Expressway Group are fully open, which provide truck drivers with shower stalls, laundry, water dispensers, microwave ovens, mobile phone chargers, etc.

At the same time, additional free auto repair service sites are set up in service areas with large traffic flow to provide tyre inflation, tyre pressure detection, light adjustment, water refilling and other free services for passing vehicles.

In terms of operation and maintenance, the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Expressway Group Road Network Company introduced that the weather was dry in summer, so they have carried out "physical examination" with the State Grid on the charging piles in the service areas at 137 sides of the whole road network to ensure the normal use for the public and the safety of charging facilities.

Mechanized operation mode has been adopted in the daily maintenance and distress treatment of the pavement, and a rapid treatment mechanism for highway distress shall be established to repair the pavement diseases within 24 hours, improve the operation efficiency and reduce the construction time.

In addition, Chongqing Expressway Group timely releases travel information on expressway control, construction, congestion and high temperature warning through variable information boards along the line.
