CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Affected by the continuous sunny days, high temperature and drought, a fire broke out in the mountain forest under the jurisdiction of Xinyu village, Jieshi Town, Banan District, Chongqing Municipality at about 5 p.m. on August 21.

After the fire broke out, Chongqing municipal and district governments quickly launched the emergency plan and organized more than 1500 people of emergency force to fight the fire, including 173 members of Blue Sky Rescue transferred from many places in Chongqing.

In the early morning of August 22, a sudden strong wind caused the fire to get bigger. Considering the safety of the rescuers, the field command post divided the Blue Sky Rescue team into three echelons to open isolation zones. Among them, the first echelon, including 36 Blue Sky Rescue members in Banan District and Yuzhong District, opened an isolation zone in the direction from Zhaojiaba to Hujiayan in Jieshi Town, Banan District; the second echelon’s 37 members of the Blue Sky Rescue in Jiangbei District, Nan'an District and Jiulongpo District, and 36 members of the Blue Sky Rescue in Liangjiang New Area, Hechuan district and Yongchuan District of Chongqing as the third echelon opened the Isolation zone from the two ends of Laohuanggou, Jieshi, Banan District to the middle.

Working in the dense jungle at night and carrying personal protective equipment such as headlights, chainsaws, ropes, engineering shovels and machetes, theses rescuers opened up a 30 meter wide and 3 kilometer long isolation zone after "fighting hard" for more than 10 hours, effectively preventing the fire from spreading over a large area.

At 6:00 p.m. on August 22, the blue sky team members reported to the field command post and evacuated the fire site. Although very tired, they found it rewarding.

After a day's rest, at 2:00 p.m. on August 23, more than 20 staff members of the Blue Sky Rescue from Chongqing Liangjiang New Area were sent to Beibei preparing for mountain fire rescue after receiving the notice from the coordination center of Chongqing Blue Sky Rescue.
