On the morning of August 31, “Start writing for intelligent development, and practise with earnestness for dreams”, the school-opening ceremony was held for the new students in first grade and seventh grade of Renhe Experimental School in Liangjiang New Area. More than 600 new students came to the school with great expectations to start their new campus life.

Mou Jun, the school master of Renhe Experimental School, told the reporter that the school had prepared a series of surprising school-opening gifts in order to offer an amazing study tour for the new students. Pencils, erasers, rulers and other stationery were packed in the beautifully colored gift boxes, which symbolize the teachers’ good wishes for the new students at Renhe Experimental School.

After receiving their gifts, the students were guided by their teachers to the “intelligent development ceremony”. The so-called “vermilion intelligent development ceremony” refers to put a red dot on the students’ forehead by using vermilion. The meaning of “vermilion” in ancient Chinese is “intelligence”, so putting a dot using vermilion on the forehead means intelligent development.

“Write ‘人’ （“human” in Chinese) with one stroke to the left and another to the right, and spend a whole life learning how to be a human”. The teacher told the students that the ability of reading and writing is the first step in learning culture.
