Temperatures in most areas dropped by 15℃

Luo Juan, the chief reporter of Chongqing Meteorological Service, said that compared with August 28, the daily maximum temperature in most areas of Chongqing dropped by over 15℃. The daily maximum temperature in Shapingba District fell even by 17℃.

Some citizens worry if Chongqing in September will still suffer from extremely high temperatures of over 40℃. The experts of Chongqing Meteorological Service said that the average temperature of Chongqing will be 24℃ in September, and the daily temperature will not exceed 40℃. Dong Xinning, a senior engineer of Chongqing Climate Center, said that the temperatures in most areas of Chongqing will vary from 35℃ to 37℃ for 2 to 5 days, but there will be no extreme high temperature of more than 40℃. The rainfall will reach 111 mm on average in Chongqing, about 10% less than the same period of the year (123.8 mm).
