CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the section between Xishan Overpass and Zhongzhu Overpass of Chongqing Pingshan Avenue Project successfully opened to traffic, and the whole project was completed two months earlier than the contract period.

Chongqing Pingshan Avenue, as the key municipal project organized and constructed by Chongqing Chengtou Group, spans from Bishan in the west to Cheng-Yu Area Ring Expressway in the east, connecting with the city ring expressway and the inner ring expressway through Kexuecheng Tunnel. It is an urban expressway with a total length of 7 kilometers and a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The main line of the project has six lanes in two directions, including eight mainline bridges, two interchange overpasses (Xishan Overpass and Zhongzhu Overpass), three simple overpass, and one tunnel.

The section between Xishan Overpass and Zhongzhu Overpass opened this time, which includes the main line and four ramps that connect Xishan Overpass with Cheng-Yu Area Ring Expressway: C, E, F and H, and five ramps that connect Zhongzhu Overpass with Daxuecheng Tunnel and Kexue Avenue: A, D, E, H and G. The project effectively realizes the interconnection between Cheng-Yu Area Ring Expressway and Kexye Avenue, and relieves the traffic pressure of Daxuecheng Tunnel.

After the completion of the whole project, the access to Bishan, Western (Chongqing) Science City, Shapingba and other regions will be connected, which will play an important role in improving the framework of the expressway network in western Chongqing, enhancing the function of the three-dimensional transportation hub of the Western (Chongqing) Science City, and boosting the social and economic development of the economic circles in Chengdu and Chongqing.
