CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In the afternoon of September 20, the section between the Daxuecheng Tunnel of Pingshan Avenue and Kexue Avenue (Xishan Overpass to Zhongzhu Overpass) opened to traffic. The whole line is expected to open to traffic by the end of next month.

Pingshan Avenue project is a key municipal project, covering from Hengsi Road in Xiyong to Kexuecheng Tunnel in the east. With a total length of 7 kilometers and a design speed of 80 km/h, the main road plays an important role in facilitating the transport around the Science City.

After the full line of Pingshan Avenue opens to traffic, an urban expressway will be formed to connect Bishan Tunnel and Kexuecheng Tunnel, further link Cheng-Yu Area Ring Expressway, and connect the downtown area to the west channel. (Photographed by Zhang Yizhu and Long Fan/Visual Chongqing)
