CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- “Qidou village”, the name of Yanjia village, Taiping village, Shihu village, Bingzi village, Yangjia village, Tianzi village and Gucheng village, is named after their locations on the peak that form the shape of the Big Dipper. Founded in the Song Dynasty, Qidou village has a history of more than 1,800 years. It was designated as a key district-level protected cultural relic in 1988, and listed in the second batch of traditional villages in Chongqing in 2021.
With a history of thousands of years, the village haven’t vanished, and even enjoys a higher reputation today. The reason for this lies in the reasonable protection and utilization of this traditional village, which has laid a path of “living” preservation for Qidou village.
