CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- During the 128th press conference on the prevention and control of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Chongqing held on the evening of October 7, Li Pan, the deputy director of Chongqing Municipal Health Commission elucidated the key points of epidemic prevention and control in the public places and reminded the inspectors of public places and the public to memorize the five keys of Yukang Code to epidemic prevention and control, namely “scanning, checking, inspecting, reporting and testing".

Li Pan urged the general public to correctly wear a mask, check their body temperatures, and properly use Yukang Codes (scanning, checking, inspecting, reporting and testing), so as to do a good job of epidemic prevention and control in the public places.

The "five keys" are as follows:

"Scanning" means the public should scan the specific code of the public area through their phones before entering. People coming or returning to Chongqing should scan the “Ruyu Code” at airports, high-speed railway stations and highway exits. After scanning the “Ruyu Code”, you will find a pop-up window in your Yukang code, which will be eliminated after you complete a nucleic acid test upon arrival as required. Please note that the code can be scanned through WeChat or Alipay.

"Checking" means that the inspectors of the public areas should check the status of the health codes and nucleic acid testing results of the general public. Firstly, they should check whether their health codes are green. The green circular pattern in the middle of the mobile phone interface refers to the green code, and it is unnecessary to go back to the home page of Yukang Code to click on “show the code”; secondly, the inspectors should check the dates and results of their nucleic acid tests to see if they complete the regular nucleic acid testing as required and whether their results are negative. Currently, the test result section will show a 24-hour/48-hour/7-day valid negative nucleic acid test result.

On principle, those with red codes, yellow codes, or pop-up windows are not allowed to enter the public areas except for medical institutions and other special public places; if those with yellow codes, or pop-up windows need to stay in hotels, they should check in in accordance with relevant regulations.

Some places have certain requirements for the dates of nucleic acid tests completed. For example, people should show a 72-hour valid negative nucleic acid test result before entering tourist attractions, hotels, public libraries, cultural centers, and art galleries, and a 48-hour valid negative nuclei acid test result before entering theatres.

At present, the citizens in downtown Chongqing are required to receive a nucleic acid test once a week, and therefore, they need to hold a 7-day valid negative nucleic acid test result before entering the public places.

"Inspecting" means that after checking the health codes and test results of the general public, the inspectors should check their "itinerary codes" below the health codes, to see if they have been to the key areas within the past 7 days. This requires the cooperation of the public.

The above three steps are required in all public places.

In some places such as traffic hubs and hotels, it is necessary to complete the "reporting" and "testing" as required by the relevant epidemic prevention and control regulations.

"Reporting" means that those coming or returning to Chongqing should report their health condition and the recent travel history to the local community. It’s recommended that travelers should complete reporting before arriving at the transportation hub, which will enhance the travel efficiency and avoid long queues. If those from key areas do not complete the report in advance, they have to report their health condition on site and have it checked by the inspector.

"Testing" means nucleic acid testing. People coming or returning to Chongqing must receive a nucleic acid test upon their arrival as required. At the same time, residents in downtown Chongqing should complete a nucleic acid test every 7 days, while the employees of key industries need to complete the regular nucleic acid testing according to the relevant regulation of the industry.

Li Pan urged the general public to memorize the five keys of Yukang Code and make good use of them, so as to improve the efficiency and ensure the quality of code inspection. (Translated by Cai Xinyu, Fathom Language Limited)
