CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter learned from Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group that the operation of public transport in downtown Chongqing had remained stable during the National Day holiday (October 1 to October 7), carrying a total of 35.425 million passengers.

In terms of the passenger volume of the railway stations around the main transportation hubs in downtown Chongqing, Shapingba Station, Chongqing North Station South Square Station, Chongqing North Station North Square Station, and Chongqing West Station made a total of 1.56 million passenger trips. The average daily passenger trips of the four stations reach 100,000, 56,000, 40,000, and 26,000 respectively.

In terms of the passenger volume of the railway stations around the key business districts and scenic spots, Guanyinqiao Station received the most passengers, with 161,000 daily trips made on average. The average daily passenger count reached 103,000 trips in Xiaoshizi Station, 22,000 trips in Ciqikou Station, and 17,000 in Liziba Station.

It is worth mentioning that since the opening of the transfer passage of the three CRT lines (Loop Line, Line 1, and Line 9) at Shapingba Station on September 30, the time of transfer has been shortened by about 12 minutes. As of October 7, the transfer count at Shapingba Station has reached 511,000, with an average daily passenger count of 64,500. During the period from September 30 to October 7, Jiangtiao Line received 220,500 passengers, with an average daily passenger count of 27,600, and the highest daily passenger count reached around 39,400 trips on September 30.

During the holiday, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group put into use 5,115 buses and 264 trains (there are one or two “stand-by” trains on each line) to ensure convenient communications. The service hours of Bus 245, Bus 828, Bus 622, Bus 10, and Bus 321 were extended at night; Line 6 was adjusted to start backtracking at Guangdianyuan; the time interval between the departure of trains of Line 1, CRT Line 2, CRT Line 3, CRT Line 9, and CRT Line 10 was shortened by one or two minutes on average, and the operation hours of CRT Loop Line was extended.
