CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- There’s another scenery found in “two rivers and four river banks” area in Chongqing: a great number of fish were carved on stones on the river bank below the Yangtze River ecological and humanistic painting in Yabadong Riverside Park. It seems to be an archaeological site of prehistoric fish fossils.
On October 8, the reporter came for a visit and found that it’s not easy to find the fish when standing on the river bank. But when you walk among these stones, you will see the fish from time to time. Some of the fish have clearly visible fish bones, some are hidden in the crevice, and some overlap together, as if playing “hide-and-seek” with people.
In addition to fish, the reporter found that there were also turtles, snakes and stone carvings of other shapes. It is learned that those stone carvings on the river bank are part of the environmental improvement project covering from the south bridgehead of Egongyan Yangtze River Bridge to Xianglong Jiangpan residential area. Centering on “memories of the river bank” and the renovation of rock beaches, the project aims to create attractions such as stone carvings and ecological lakes so as to build a riverside park full of unique memories of the mountain city. It is expected to be fully completed by the end of this year.
