CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The woods in the hills are aflame with a gorgeous golden color, which form a landscape painting of vibrant green and yellow colors with the reeds, irises and fallen leaves by the riverbank. Located between Mingyue Mountain and Tongluo Mountain in Nan’an District, Chongqing, Guangyang Island is a rare ecological island around the Yangtze River. As the weather gets cooler, the vegetation on the island starts to turn yellow or red, making Guangyang Island look like a bright-colored painting.

When you get off at the first stop of Guanyang Island, the head of the West Island, you can see the long Wutong Avenue as you walk on a little way. From a distance, the large area of phoenix trees (“wutong” trees in Chinese) looks like a golden avenue winding through Guangyang Island. Many tourists came here to produce wonderful photos of landscapes and humans. Walking along Wutong Avenue, you will see courtyards, grass huts, backpacks and windmills that present lovely rural scenery.

After passing a few more stations, you will reach Fendai Caotian Station.

In autumn, a hundred mu of pink muhly grass came out, creating a charming pink world. It is learned that, based on the two key polices, “water management” and “grass planting”, the ecological restoration of the pink muhly grass field is achieved by improving the terrain and soils, retaining water, arranging grassed waterways, and store water to form a “garden of rain”, so as to create a dream-like and romantic multilevel field of flowers.

Walking along, you can stop at Muchang Station to enjoy the autumn scenery.

The pasture on the island is surrounded by fences made of tree trunks. Fine horses, strong cattle, and cute lambs are strolling leisurely on the grass and filling themselves with the ecological benefits... Changing into brightly colored dresses and standing by the wooden fence, you can capture a moment of gorgeous autumn with one click. If you're lucky enough to meet the animals, it's fun to interact with them!

Next to the pasture, the site of Guangyangba Airport stands below the tall lighthouse. An "airplane" on the runway has attracted numerous visitors to come for photographing, who also breathed new life into the site. Rows of bicycles are places on both sides of the runway for visitors, which meet the dual needs of cycling lovers for both leisure and exercise.

After viewing the lighthouse, you can also drop by the East Island Head Station to see the river and the great lawn.

The quaint Laoyingcha Ferry, the sky-high trees growing on the lawn, a small boat stranded in the lake... The head of East Island boasts a lot of gorgeous scenic spots, where a unique scene of autumn is presented.  

A large area of carpet-like lush green grass, which stretches endlessly, has gradually turned yellow; the reeds stood high out of the plants by the river bank, forming a poetic scene; the flowing water and the rustling reeds seemed to be whispering to each other.

Reservation: Follow the official WeChat account of "Guangyang Island Green Development Company" and click on "Island · trip" - "Reservation on the island" in the menu bar, or open the WeChat mini-app "Guangyang Island" and select "Reservation on the island". Please read and agree to the "Notice of Safe Visits to Guangyang Island", choose "come to the island by road" or "come to the island by water", fill in your name and submit your personal information before getting the reservation QR code.

Access to the island: There are two ways to access the island, by road and by water. Those who go to the island by road can walk to the island or take the eco-tour bus at Guangyang Island shuttle station after successfully making a reservation. For those who go to the island by water, they can purchase a ticket of the eco-tour bus by scanning the QR code at East Island Head Station near Laoyingcha Ferry, or whenever you see an eco-tour bus on the island (it will stop whenever you hails a ride).
