Cross-border vehicle special trains are gaining popularity

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 14:56 on October 18, a freight train carrying 171 commodity vehicles slowly drove out of Yuzui Station in Chongqing, passed through the Horgas Port, and finally arrived at Atenkori Station in Kazakhstan.

This is the first cross-border commodity vehicle special train to Kazakhstan at Yuzui Station near the Guoyuan Port, relying on the China-Europe freight Train logistics Express channel. The whole journey takes 18 to 20 days. On July 21 of this year, Yuzui Station opened the first cross-border commodity vehicle special train, which left the country through Horgas Port and headed for Russia in only 18 days. Since this year, Yuzui Station has sent a total of 80 China-Europe freight trains and 4 special vehicle trains. More and more vehicle manufacturers choose to send commodity vehicles from Yuzui Station.

Save handling costs and choose destinations according to needs

The reporter of Chongqing Daily learned that the first cross-border commodity vehicle special train from Yuzui Station to Kazakhstan mainly carried Chang'an automobiles. Chen Yu, the freight director of Yuzui Station, said that Chang'an Automobile Factory is located in Yuzui District, and it is only 5 or 6 kilometers away from Yuzui Station. The transportation cost was greatly saved by sending commodity vehicles out of the country from Yuzui Station.

In June 2020, Chongqing Yuzui Logistics Base was officially put into use. The logistics base mainly meets the railway transportation needs of commodity vehicles of Chang'an, Shanghai GM Wuling, Beijing Hyundai and so on in Yufu Area, Liangjiang New Area. It has the ability to load and unload more than 600,000 vehicles annually, and is the largest commodity vehicle logistics base in Southwest China.

In July this year, Yuzui Station opened the first cross-border commodity vehicle special train relying on the China-Europe freight Train logistics Express channel. The distance between factories of these automobile brands and Yuzui Station is within 5 to 15 kilometers. Drivers can directly drive commodity vehicles to the railway station without dragging trailers.

"If automobile manufacturers choose to start from Tuanjie Village, the cost will be higher." Chen Yu said that Yuzui Station has obvious geographical advantages. As long as customers have demand, they will choose the destination that manufacturers want to reach according to the route of China-Europe freight trains.

At the same time, JSQ (special transport vehicle for automobiles) is used for export transportation by commodity vehicle special trains. Compared with traditional container transportation, it has larger loading capacity, wider use of vehicle models, and better transportation stability and safety.
