CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The project of Baoshan Jialing River Bridge kicked off tenders on October 19, which indicated the project would enter the construction stage soon, according to Chongqing Housing and Urban-Rural Development Committee.

As one of the key municipal projects in Chongqing, the Baoshan Jialing River Bridge project is also an important session of the five east-west expressways in Liangjiang New Area.

The route of the project covers from Xiqiaotou interchange in Shilong Village, Caijia areas in the west to Chunxuan interchange in Yuelai areas, with a main span of 250 meters and a total length of 3.4km. The design of the project conforms to the standards for urban expressways: it includes eight lanes in two directions with a design speed of 80km per hour, two interchanges (Xiqiaotou interchange, Chunxuan interchange), and a bridge over Jialing River (Baoshan Jialing River Bridge).

Baoshan Jialing River Bridge, in a prestressed concrete structure, features main span of 250 meters, a standard width of 39 meters, eight lanes in two directions and 3-meter wide sidewalks on both sides; Xiqiaotou interchange consists of two “Y-shaped” interchanges, with a total of 10 ramps; Chunxuan interchange is a "8-shaped" interchange with a total of 8 ramps.

According to the relevant person in charge of the project from Chongqing Housing and Urban-Rural Development Committee, the bridge, on its completion, will form a multilevel transport network connecting Caijia, Yuelai and Central Park areas and drive the economic growth of the surrounding areas.
