CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Papermaking technology is considered one of the four great inventions of ancient China. Paper, since its emergence, has been pushing forward the development of society. The process of making traditional hand-made paper embodies the unique philosophy and creative wisdom of the Chinese. The "Techniques and Arts of Chinese Handmade Paper" exhibition, which has been on display at Chongqing Science and Technology Museum for seven months, is coming to an end and will be closed on November 6. The Chongqing Science and Technology Museum warmly invite those who have not yet been to the exhibition to come to experience the unique charm of handmade paper.

Centering on papermaking technology, the exhibition features four main exhibitions: “Source of the Technology”, “Craftsmanship”, “Use of Paper”, and “handmade paper crafts”, and displays a total of 36 exhibits. It presents history and development of papermaking technology as well as the relationship between paper and science, culture, environment, etc. through interactive activities, displays, models and multimedia. In this exhibition, visitors can learn the “name, age, native place and social relationship” of handmade paper, and deeply feel its value.

The traditional works of paper-folding such as shoe-shaped gold ingot, water lily, and sewing kits, modern works of paper-folding like triceratops and tyrannosaurus rex, as well as scientific and artistic works of paper-folding such as “Sanpu structure”, mine structure, beehive structure, flamingo and flying horse are all popular exhibits at the exhibition.
