CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Most of the construction for the first phase of the Line 4 has been completed. Currently the line is undergoing test runs without passengers and is expected to open within the year.

The first phase of Line 4 is one of the most important backbone lines in the network of Chongqing Rail Transit. It starts at the Min'an Avenue Station in the west and ends at the Tangjiatuo Station in the east. It has a total length of 15.6 kilometers and 9 stations: Min'an Avenue, Chongqingbei North Square, Toutang, Bonded Port, Cuntan, Heishizi, Gangcheng, Taipingchong and Tangjiatuo Station. Among them, five are transfer stations, where passengers can transfer to Line 9, Line 10 or the Loop Line.

There are also five interchange stations along the route: Min’an Avenue (transfer with Loop Line (under construction) within the same platform in the station), Chongqingbei North Square (transfer with Line 10 (under construction) and Chongqingbei Railway Station Hub), Toutang (transfer with Line 9 within the station), Bonded Port (transfer with Line 9 within the same platform) and Taipingchong Station (transfer with the future Line 11 within the station).
