Citizens are visiting Australian aborigine art exhibition.
CHONGQING (CQNEWS) On June 30, at Jiazhou business district Shin Kong Place, the Australian Consulate VS Banan District theme week was launched at the main venue of 2018 “Chongqing & World Carnival”. Those who are interested can go there to appreciate the Banan intangible cultural heritage and Australian aborigine culture.
This Banan theme week has five major exhibition areas including city landscape image exhibition area, regional food promotion area and intangible cultural heritage handcraft exhibition area. Yudong crewel embroidery is a special intangible cultural heritage project in Banan District. The crewel embroidery, also called as “Zhengze embroidery”, is a masterpiece of Chinese embroidery art. On the basis of inheriting the Suzhou embroidery art, Yang Shihua from Yudong combines the color of western painting with the shadow lining method of sketch and applies it to embroidery. This kind of embroidery method is widely spread in Yudong district.
Australian Consulate-General Chengdu also holds Aboriginal Art Exhibition and Aboriginal Culture themed salon to generalize the Aboriginal Culture and promote communication and cooperation in the fields of culture and arts.
Australian Aboriginal Culture is one of the most ancient cultures in the world. At the event, Zhou Xiaoping, a Chinese- Australian, shows the original art of indigenous Australians’s Culture by his art works. It is reported that, Zhou travelled into some remote Indigenous communities in Australian and began a special journey 30 years ago. This art exhibition displays over 40 paintings and photograph works, with a special flavor.
