CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Summer is the most popular season in the tourism market. How big is the market? Recently, China Tourism Academy together with Ctrip Travel Big Data Joint Lab released the "2018 Summer Tourism Big Data Report" (hereinafter referred to as "Report"). Chongqing, as a tourist destination, is popular among student travel and red tourism indicators, ranking in the forefront of the country. As an important source of tourists, Chongqing people’s enthusiasm for travel is ranked third in the country.

Entering July, the college entrance examination results were revealed, students started the holiday, and the World Cup was in full swing... Graduation tour, summer vacation, football tour, rehabilitation tour, parent-child tour overlay with each other, and the tourism market entered the peak season of the year.
China Tourism Academy’s survey on the willingness of Chinese urban and rural residents to travel shows that in the third quarter, the overall tourist willingness of Chinese residents was as high as 86.4%, among which the proportion to travel in August was the highest.
Ctrip platform visitors' booking data shows that the number of tourists in China this year is expected to reach 5 billion, and the proportion of summer trips is expected to reach one-fifth of the annual travel volume. By the end of June, domestic tourists had booked summer tourism products in 114 countries (regions) and more than 1,000 cities as destination through Ctrip.
Among these tourists, nearly half of them take summer vacation as their main purpose. “Getting lost (to a cool place)” has become the normal life choice for ordinary people. Parent-child travel is the second largest group in the summer tourism market. Sales of family rooms, private groups and other products are booming. Student travel is the third largest group in the summer travel market, including graduation seasons for junior high school, senior high school, and university graduates, as well as research tours and summer camps for students of all ages.
