CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A local Chongqing film is coming! Many audiences were moved by the documentary which recorded the real life of Chongqing “Bang Bang” (porters who carries objects or cargoes for others.), which was edited, directed and performed by He Ku. The film version of the Last Generation of Bang Bang is to be released on August 17. Recently, some audiences watched the movie in advance in Jiefangbei.
The ups and downs of the “Bang Bang”, who lived in Zili Lane, Jiefangbei, Chongqing, and their life are witnessed by a wooden stick and a bundle of hemp rope. The veteran He Ku with RMB1,300 in his pocket had become an undercover “Bang Bang” for a year before he made the documentary The Last Generation of Bang Bang.
Since the broadcast, the film has been recognized by many audiences with a score of 9.7 on Douban, and it also won the Best Short Documentary Award in the first Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival.
In addition to the original plot, content that was shot later was added to the film version of the Last Generation of Bang Bang, which lets audiences know the real and touching lives of these “Bang Bang” from the screen. Many audiences shed tears when they see the “Bang Bang” facing the cruel life, but the sincere and plain words in the film can make audiences laugh.
