The end of summer and the beginning of autumn are the best time to enjoy the multi-layer terraced fields in Taian Town. Rice in Taian terraced fields has gradually become mature and it is visual enjoyment to see pleasant golden color showing among the multi-layer terraced fields.

A quiet and beautiful scene consists of golden terraced fields, blue sky and white clouds as looking around. According to historical records, Taian multi-layer terraced fields, covering 15,000 mu, were reclaimed in Tang Dynasty and formed in the early Ming Dynasty. There was a folk story that there is a big slab stone in Wan County where there are thousands of dan of annual output of grains. Wan County is now called Wanzhou and the big slab stone is Taian multi-layer terraced today.
