Three Gorges Culture and Art Center, Wanzhou to come

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, according to the Wanzhou District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Committee, it is reported that in order to effectively improve the urban public service system and accelerate the construction of a regional central city, Wanzhou District is rapidly advancing the construction of the Three Gorges Culture and Art Center, in which the Phase I grand theaters is scheduled to be completed and put into use at the end of this year.

The Three Gorges Culture and Art Center is located in the Civic Square in the core area of Jiangnan New District, adjacent to the Three Gorges Immigrant Memorial Hall and Nanbin Park. Designed by Cui Kai, who is an academician of the Academy of Engineering of China Architecture Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., it is one of the major urban infrastructure projects in Wanzhou District.

It is reported that the project covers an area of about 49.55 acres, with a construction area of about 36000 square meters. The project is constructed in two phases, with a construction area of approximately 22000 square meters in Phase I, which is mainly configured for 1417 grand theaters and related supporting buildings. And phase II will be built according to the functions required for the entry of cultural centers in accordance with the standards of large cities, mainly equipped with 600 concert halls, rehearsal, exhibition halls, training, classrooms, office and other functional rooms, with a construction area of 14000 square meters.
