CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Workers were busy with the track laying on the Chongqing section of Lanzhou-Chongqing (Lanyu) Railway despite the scorching weather.

Lanyu Railway is very essential for optimizing Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe (Yuxin'ou) International Railway. Travel time from Chongqing to Lanzhou of Gansu Province will be shortened by 10 hours after the operation of Lanyu Railway in 2015.　　

Yuxin'ou Railway has linked Liangjiang New Area of Chongqing with Lanzhou New Area, which was approved by the State Council, or China’s Cabinet on August 28, 2012.　　

The establishment of Lanzhou New Area will benefit Chongqing’s Liangjiang New Area, according to Li Yong from Chongqing Academy of Social Sciences.

The two new areas are highly complementary in functions and industrial layouts. With abundant minerals and non-ferrous metals, Lanzhou New Area could develop itself into energy base and manufacturing base. Meanwhile, Hi-tech industry, equipment manufacturing industry and moder service industry of Liangjiang New Area will aid the development of Lanzhou New Area.　　

Lanyu Railway will realize a closer relationship between the two new areas. Some industries in Liangjiang New Area and even in Chongqing could be transferred to Lanzhou New Area. The two parties could join hands in construction of logistics channel, etc.
