Yuli Railway to shorten intercity distance

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing-Lichuan (Yuli) Railway will open to traffic at the end of 2013, and the travel duration from Chongqing to Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing by train will be shrunk to 8, 9 and 10 hours respectively, according to The Chongqing Development and Reform Commission on November 11th, 2013.

Yuli Railway starts from Chongqing North Railway Station on the west, connecting with Liangwu Station in Lichuan, Hubei Province, and reaches Lichuan Station by way of Yichang-Wanzhou Railway. The 264.4km line has set up 9 stations including Chongqing North, Shuangxi, Fusheng and Changshou North.

With an average speed of 200km/h it will take only 5h from Chongqing to Wuhan, instead of the present 15h, 8h to Guangzhou (presently 22h), 9h to Shanghai (presently 25h), and 10h to Beijing (presently 23h). (Translated by Chen Siyan, Fathom Language Limited)
