South Korean Eastar Jet Airlines started a direct flight service on Tuesday between the country’s Jeju Island and Chongqing.

It is the first direct air route between Chongqing and the island, said the chairman of Chongqing International Airport Co. Ltd.

The airline will operate four weekly round-trip flights with Boeing 737.

As an economic growth engine in west China, Chongqing has been boosting its air routes with overseas cities. As of now, it has 22 air links with overseas airports in Asian, European, American and Australian cities.(CQNEWS)
